POST: Joint wedding for P-Square?

P-Square are reportedly planning to have a joint white wedding. This comes after one of the identical twin brothers, Peter recently had his traditional wedding. His brother, Paul said they couldn't have their traditional weddings on the same day because of cultural differences.

Paul's fiancé, Anita Isama, is from Kogi and Peter's wife is Yoruba. Paul said, "So because im dey marry Yoruba woman, wey dem go do am here, if my own na from Kogi, all of us go do am for Lagos? Make una chill. That's why it's a traditional marriage. You do it in a girl's home. When I go do my own, I will do it in her home." Paul added, "If na for white wedding, I will answer you" prompting speculation that their white wedding will be on the same day.

The competition organized in partnership with Trace Nigeria, held its finale in Lagos on Friday 22nd November 2013 at 10 Degrees, and named the 300 Biology student of the University of Abuja as the winner. Samuel got the winning title by defeating 9 other contestants – Most especially HEC who got into battle with him at the final round with heavy punch lines, Miekharry, Psychobarz, EM.A, Dusten Truce, Baysix, Jurggis, Golden and High M. Prometh also won a sum of $20,000.

The Finale also had amazing performances from Nigerian rap gurus – M.I, Wizkid, Olamide, Lynxxx, Phyno, Skales, Sean Tizzle, Jesse Jagz, May D and Blink.

And the judges line up are Evalodia, Majeed, Mode 9 and a famous Ghanian rapper. Bovi and Jimmy of Industry Nite was the host.

ASUU silent after NEC meeting

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) concluded a two-day National Executive Council Meeting (NEC) on Saturday in Kano with a resolve to keep mum until it met with President Goodluck Jonathan.

The meeting was held at an undisclosed venue.

A reliable source in the association who spoke with NAN on Saturday said ASUU has decided to meet with President Jonathan "before making whatever decision they took during the meeting public".

NAN recalls the NEC meeting was billed to hold two weeks ago but was postponed following the death of a former ASUU President, Prof. Festus Iyayi in a road accident in Lokoja.

The gist making the rounds is that Davido got bounced at Davido’s 21st birthday party that held few days ago

Davido came out to debunk the rumour read statement:

That question has left many tongues wagging. Iyanya was bounced at Davido’s 21st birthday party which held at Pavada Lounge Thursday night. Witnesses said, most people who weren’t invited where not allowed to get in, and if you must, you must call one of the HKN group members, who will come out and take you in.

Most people who felt they should be in, called Kamal, a member of Davido’s group who was always in and out taking guests in. But when Iyanya got to the entrance, the bouncers said he couldn’t get it.People around told them it was Iyanya, but the bouncers still refused and said if he must get in, he should call Davido or Kamal. 

Iyanya tried making a call, but no one picked, he got angry nodding his head as he left. A lot of people didn’t understand what was going on and it soon became a hot topic among guests at the party. 

The same thing applied to May D.

Outcome of FG & ASUU meeting: FG to give varsities N1.1tn in 5yrs

Very late Monday night November 4th, President Jonathan met with officials of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, over the on-going strike. After the meeting, ASUU officials said they would relay the outcome of the meeting later this week after consulting with other members of their board. The Union has not made an official statement yet but Punch is reporting that a key component of the agreement reached by the parties after the meeting was that the Federal Government would  inject N1.1trillion into public universities in the next five years.

They said the federal government would release N220billion yearly into the sector beginning from 2014. For the outgoing year, the government will only release N100bn and this has been processed.

They also said the strike would be called off anytime next week. Halleluyah!

Tonto Dikeh 'collaborates' with D'banj

There's a lot of stuff that happens in this our entertainment industry that I hear but decide not to write. A lot. Half of them y'all will not even believe. Lol. But here's one that I think all you 'amebo lovers' should know. Tonto Dikeh and D'banj have gotten quite 'close' in recent times. She has been seen several times at D'banj's home in Lekki. She's recording songs at the studio in his house and whenever she records late into the night, she spends the night there. Now, I'm not implying anything o, I'm just stating facts. And you don't have to believe my story o...hehe.

Quite a few people have seen and interacted with Tonto at D'banj's place and some even think she's his current babe because of how much time she spends there and some of the 'things' the two stars get up to ... but me I don't know that one oh, all I know is that she spends time there to further her music career and I do not know if D'banj is planning to sign her to his record label but he once said that if he signs her, she will blow!

Tiwa Savage denies she is pregnant with her first child following rumours which allege she is expecting her first child.

Tiwa Savage hits back at claims she is pregnant.
The Pop singer attended comedian Tee-A's 'Tymeout With Tee-A' concert, on Sunday (03.11.13) where she refuted the stories which allege she is expecting her first child.
When questioned by show host Tee-A about the report, Tiwa replied: ''I think they got those stories because of (what happened) yesterday (Saturday)...and what happened was that I ate too much puff-puff that made my tummy bulge.''
Rumours about Tiwa being pregnant started after a picture of the singer at Annie Macaulay-Idibia's baby shower in a figure-hugging dress hit Instagram.
Tiwa will be tying the knot with her fiance and manager Tunji 'Tee Billz' Balogun later this month.

The star - real name David Adeleke - is hoping to be ''free to rest'' after a decade of success in the music industry after finding fame young.
Speaking with Jayne Augoye of Punch Newspaper, he said: ''I want to do music for 10 years. By that time, I will be 30, and free to rest. Some people are just starting out at 30 but I am already a success and threat at 20. Fame at a young age is a plus because I still have like 10 years to ball while some people are just starting at 27 and 30.''
The 20-year-old also disclosed that he will be going into Oil and Gas business next year with his elder brother Adewale Adeleke.

Ever since debuting in late 2010, Davido's music has enjoyed rave reviews.

Nigerian musician Davido reportedly said he will be giving away N1 million to his fans at his 21st birthday on the 21st of November.

According to reports, the singer whose real name is David Adedeji Adeleke, took to Twitter to make the announcement.
This comes after Davido allegedly gave out N500 000 to his fans on his birthday last year. This year he says he intends on doubling it up.
"Last year I gave out 500k on my bday, this year we double up! 1M!," he tweeted.
Davido also added in excitement that his 21^st birthday is going to be huge.
"My 21st bday this month gonna be huge!!!!! Aahhhhhh!!!!"

There was a fire outbreak at Great Nigeria House at Balogun Market in Lagos this morning. Eye witnesses said the fire started around 3/4am from one of the top floors. The cause of the fire outbreak is unknown but people suspect that it may be as a result of electrical fault.

On the ground were National Commission for Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI), National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), LASEMA, and the Lagos State Fire Service as well as Federal Fire Service to quench the fire, and evacuate affected persons. More pics after the cut....
